What Does "Re-Listing" Mean?

My listing just expired, and I suspect that one party that was interested will approach me. There is a 60 day clause that says I have to pay the commission to the old broker if I sell to someone who has seen the house; I understand that. It also says "unless the property is re-listed". Can I sign up for an FSBO MLS listing, or throw an agent $1000 to give me an open listing to avoid the 60 day wait? There is no wording on the contract that says what type of listing voids the clause.

That's an intriguing question.  The broker-protection clause, and its exception, was probably written before the days of discount brokerages and Internet listings.  I just can't guess what a judge would say if the question came to a court fight.
