Hello. I am inquiring about a real estate trade. I have owned my home for five years and it is valued at around $120,000. A colleague of mine is interested in purchasing my home while she has her own home on the market for $179,000. I would like to purchase her property and she would like to buy my property. How would we go about a trade, and how would the difference in prices be handled? Thank you for your reply. |

The trade would be handled as two ordinary transactions -- you buying her house, she buying yours. You might want to hire a real estate broker for the paperwork and advice about financing. Perhaps you can find someone who will work by the hour, or for a low rate of commission to facilitate the transactions. |
