Suspicious of Broker |
| |
 |
My question involves my realtor. We are currently try to sell our home. When having an open house isn't it right to put out an open house sign with time and day on the front yard maybe a day or two in advance. My realtor refuses to do so. Also isn't it a confidentiality matter when your realtor tells you the client interested has a trust fund. Is it right for the realtor to even say what the couple was approved for and what the limits are? Things just sound fishy! |

On the open house, you may have the right to insist on whatever signs you want. The agent owes you obedience to any lawful instructions. Perhaps there are restrictions in your area or some other reason why the agent doesn't want to put them up in advance -- did you ask?
As for telling you everything the agent knows about the prospective buyer -- again, there's a legal duty here, called "notice", and it requires your agent to tell you anything that could be useful in your negotiations. If that's your agent, he or she has no right to keep anyone else's information confidential, and instead has a duty to pass anything learned on to you. |
