Spouse Passed Away |
| |
 |
I have a spouse that passed away about 2 months ago. I'm going to be selling our home soon. How do i go about taking her name off the deed? Does it matter? Can I sell it with her name still on it? |

When anyone dies, no matter how small the estate, a lawyer should be consulted to see what steps need to be taken. I can't know how the two of you held title, whether you became full owner automatically at the death or not, whether your spouse had a will and if so what it said. You must talk with an attorney, and the sooner the better. Otherwise you'll just run into complications down the road when you try to sell the house. |
