Relocating |

I am tryin to sell my home because of a job relocation. However I bought it last year for 223000 and I currently owe 220000. a realtor looked at it and said I should list it for 179000. my relocation company only covers the costs for three months of temporary living and it looks as though I am not going to sell it in that time. Are there any programs I could use to help me. I have fixed up the house alot since I moved in and the estimate might be a little low due to the realtor not being local, but I would like to be prepared in case the estimate is accurate. Is there any thing I can do? I can't afford to stay at the house and decline teh relocation offer. The relocation company covers selling fees for 1 year. This is my dream job and I need to find a way to make it happen without jeopardizing my family of 5 (three kids under 5 years old). please help me or offer any advice on what some options are for me.

Call three local real estate brokerages and ask them to send someone over. They'll give you their estimates of market value, it won't obligate you to talk with them, and you'll be in a better position to plan when you've heard what they think. Beyond that, I am afraid I don't really have any good advice for you. Looks as if you got caught in the current real estate mess. The only consolation is that -- depending on the market where you're going -- you may buy a bargain there from someone else who got caught. |
