Picking an Agent |

How do I select the best realtor? What questions should I ask to make my selection? |

I'm assuming you're a seller, looking for someone to market your house. Call at least three companies that are active in your neighborhood -- look at "for sale" signs and read ads, search the Internet for properties near you. Ask them to send someone over. You'll learn a lot and you can look for someone whose temperament and way of doing business seems compatible with yours, someone in whom you feel confidence. You want to know about the agent's education background, how long they've been in the business (though there's no one right answer--sometimes you could do well with an ambitious newcomer) -- wht else they've sold recently, about their Internet presence, their plans for marketing your property etc. I think you'll know when you've found the right person. |
