Is Listing Binding?

My husband and I had a contract with a local realtor for the sale of our home. The real estate contract expired and the house has been under contract for a few months. The buyers stipulated in the contract that they must sell their home first. They still have not sold their home and the sale contract expires in five days. Several weeks ago we signed a contract with a new realtor but did not date it in case the buyers, by a miracle, sell their home. My husband and I had reservations about signing on with the new realtor and now wish we had not signed at all. The market is not promising and we would just like not to sell our home through a realtor. Since we signed but did not date the new contract are we obligated to follow through with the new contract?

I can't judge whether the document you signed is binding, but in any event, you always have the right to withdraw a listing.  If the agent does not agree to void it, contact the managing broker in that office.
