Commissions On Land |

Dear Edith: I am in touch with a broker for the sale of a parcel of land in another part of the state. He has said “the commission is 10 percent” Is that a norm or is it an item that you negotiate depending on locality? |

Commissions are always negotiable between you and the broker and there are no standard amounts. Sometimes brokers set their own fee schedules higher for land than they do for single houses, because it can often be harder to find a buyer for vacant land, and take longer. |
