Change of Heart |

We have our house on the market with a realtor. We signed a 60-day agreement. However, we are only one month into it and we have had a change of heart. How do we break the agreement? Will there be a penalty?

Your listing agreement was probably made with the real estate company, not the individual agent you talked with. You can certainly withdraw the listing. It should be done in writing, and you might want to start by phoning the managing broker in that office to discuss the procedure. Sometimes you're asked to reimburse the company for out-of-pocket expenses like advertising; often you're not. |
