Brother in Trouble |
| |
 |
I have a friend whom is a home owner in VA., has a brother residing in SC and could not qualify for a home in SC., the brother lost his job and hasnt been making payments. My friend has been making them and is now having financial hardships because of the situation he is in. The home is in a realtors hand but having no luck their. Would a lawyer be of any assistance with this situation without ruining my friends credit or is it a matter of time and the house selling? Thanks for any assistance you can offer - it is appreciated. |

If they offered that house for sale for $2 it would sell immediately. And somewhere between $2 and what they're asking is a price that will get the place sold immediately. If it can be sold for enough to cover the debt on it, that's what they should do right away -- drop the price to a level that will attract buyers. If there's more owed than the house is worth, your friend is just throwing good money after bad and should stop trying to save the situation. For once I don't see how bringing in a lawyer is going to make much difference. |
