Mortgage Payment Lost |

After refinancing w/ Company B and paying 1st mortgage payment in 12/07, Company B sold my loan back to previous Home lenders (Company A) the same month, but did not forward 1st mortgage payment to Company A; therefore putting me one month behind (which I was completely unaware of until now 7/07)! My credit is screwed now because of it! What do I do? |

First of course you phone your mortgage lender to see if anyone will work with you on straightening the thing out. Then you go to the library and ask a librarian's help in getting two addresses -- the president of the company servicing your mortgage, and the agency that supervises mortgages in your state. Then you write a short letter describing the problem (you summarized it nicely in your note to me) and send it to the company president, including a notation that a copy is going to the state. Attach copies of cancelled checks. Then let me know what happens -- I'm interested. Good luck. |
