If Borrowers Are Killed |
| |
 |
What happens to a mortgage if the people named on the mortgage are all killed in a plane crash? |
| |
| |
 |
The loan would still be out as a lien against the real estate and would remain with the property. If the heirs were relatives, most lenders would let the mortgage be taken over by the estate and the new owners. Otherwise, the loan would probably be called in, all immediately due and payable. |
