Transferring Inherited Property |
| |
 |
Edith, my name is Richard. I have a home that has been handed down to me free and clear. I would like to transfer the property out of my name to an entity, could you explain the procedure? |

You give your ownership away by signing a deed that says "I hereby transfer my rights in this property to ____." The deed is signed by you, your signature is notarized, you give it to that "entity", and it is placed in the public records of the county. The process is straightforward and simple, and it should not be expensive to have a lawyer take care of the paperwork so that it's in the right form and will be accepted for recording. |
