Told There Was Hardwood

We bought a house and was told that we had hardwood floors underneath all carpeted areas, when we went to pull in up afeter months of being in here there is NO hardwood floors it was a lie what recourse do we have????

To convince a court the seller owes you something, you must prove two things:
that the seller knew about the floors, and
that the seller lied.
If the statement that there was hardwood is in writing and signed by the seller, that's good proof you were told that.  Or else, at least if there were witnesses when you were told.
Proving the seller knew about it may depend on how long the seller owned the house and how long the carpet has been down.
So go ahead if you think you can prove those things.
If only a few thousand dollars are involved, you can represent yourselves in small claims court.
If it's more than that, talk with a lawyer.
