  What is the legal advantage of changing a house style such as a ranch to a condominium?
 
  A condominium is a legal organization for co-ownership of individually-occupied units.  I don't see how one ranch house could be organized as a condominium, so perhaps you'd like to write in again and describe the situation in more detail.
