Lien on the House
  I am selling my home and when the lawyer did the deed search we discovered a $30,000 lein for back child support. from my son. He was put on my deed at one time so it is against him. Is there a way that I can get this straightened out fast because I am suppose to close on 12/ 19 2007? thank you
 
 

Your problem illustrates one of the drawback to putting your son or daughter's name on as co-owner of your property.  Does your lawyer know of some way to get that financial claim taken off your house?  I certainly don't.
