Informal Instructions |

Dear Edith: The situation I present, my dear mother passed approximately three years ago; may the good Lord bless her soul, I love and miss her dearly. She left her residence with instructions informally, to me and my two sisters "Whoever needs the house." Unfortunately the home was not paid for. We decided to rent it out and are still doing so at present.
The problem, the mortgage has not been changed from my mother’s name and thus I come to you for direction, we prefer the house be in our names or name. Please give me your best course of action excluding an attorney if at all possible |

The name on the mortgage doesn’t determine who owns the house, so that’s not what you need to worry about. To find out exactly how the ownership stands, talk with a lawyer |
