I sold our house and we carried the note, house is paid for now, what document do I fill out to move the taxes into the new owners name and do they have to pay some kind of tax? |

It's not clear from your question whether you sold the place and took back a mortgage (in which case the house has belonged to the buyers all along, and they should have been paying the taxes already) or whether you sold it on a land contract or contract for deed, a sort of layaway plan in which they don't become true owners until the final payment. In either case, you need to take all the relevant documents to your own attorney to see that everything is properly finalized. Don't try to settle it without legal input, or you'll just set up future problems for the buyers and for yourselves. |
