Boyfriend Made Payments

MY MOTHER AND I BOUGHT A HOME TOGETHER. WE HAVE A WARRANTY DEED IN BOTH OUR NAMES. THE OWNERS WERE COUSINS, AFTER MAKING YEARS OF PAYMENTS TO THE FIRST OWNER SHE PAST AWAY LEAVING THE OTHER COUSIN RECIEVING THE PAYMENTS. WHEN THE BALANCE WAS DOWN TO $2500.00 I LEFT MY HOME (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE)AND MY BOYFRIEND OF MANY YEARS MADE THE FINAL PAYMENT. THE ORIGINAL OWNER THEN SENT ALL HER INFO TO HIM PLUS THE FINAL RECIEPT MARKED IN FULL WITH HIS NAME ON THE RECEIPT, DOES HE HAVE ANY CLAIM ON MY HOME??

Just making payments and receiving that "receipt" doesn't give your boyfriend any claim to ownership.  But it's very important that the right documents be filed in the county records office, to show that the mortgage has been paid off.  You may have to talk with a real estate lawyer to get it settled, but you must look after this.  Otherwise, you'll have real trouble some day if you try to sell the place, or get another mortgage.
