  Ms. Lank: I live in a house that has two apartments and I received documents stating that the house was in foreclosure.What does that mean for me? Should I start looking for alternative housing?—via e-mail
 
 

A lease usually remains in effect after the sale of real property, but it doesn’t after a foreclosure.
