Too Much Figuring |
| |
 |
Dear Edith, Could you please explain how you figure commercial rent rates? If a building is 2,275 square feet and the rent is $20 per square fOOT, do you multiply 2,275 x $20 = $45,500 and then divide by 12 months and get $3,791 per month? It seems like a lot of figuring. Is there a easier way? |

Your figuring is just right, so there's no reason to be afraid of simple multiplication and division like that. I don't see how you can be successful in commercial real estate, or in a business that requires commercial space, if you're not comfortable with numbers. And these days, after all, you simply need to know which keys to hit on a calculator |
