My question is actually about zoning. I purchased a split level apartment building with a detached garage. I want to rezone it to r3 from r2. What is my best aproach? |

You can't rezone it; the local authorities might. When you want an exception to the zone already set for your property, you must go before the local Zoning Board and explain why you want a variance, a conditional-use permit, a non-conforming use or whatever. A public hearing would usually be involved, so your neighbors could give their opinions. You'd better start by discussing the matter with a local lawyer who specializes in real estate. |
