How much would you add to the selling price of a home with a newly installed solar hot water heater and pool heater? |

For any improvement to a house, the answer to "how much value wil it add?" is always
"It all depends."
It depends on the price level of the house, how it compares in value to its neighbors, geographic location, buyers' expectations in that area, the condition it was in before the improvement, the cost of the projected improvement and lots more.
There's no rule of thumb. As a general statement, almost no improvement will increase the market value of a building by the amount of the investment. And -- again, it all depends -- there are exceptions and very occasionally one will.
Your best advice can come from nearby real estate brokers, who can judge much better than I can from this distance. You can always call a couple and pick their brains. |
