what is the worst case scenario?:
the home has 4 additions to the home(all old) with no permits or co's-we have been told many different outcomes and are not sure what to do.

Are you planning to put the house on the market?--you don't say. If not, I don't suppose you have much of a problem unless you have fire hazards or something of that sort.
You might want to start by hiring a home inspector (in New York state they are now licensed). Find out if you'd have any major problem in meeting the local building codes. After that you can decide what to do. I'm told that it can be a fairly simple matter, if things seem in order, to call your town or city hall, talk with the Building Bureau, and obtain the right documents after an official inspection. |
