Who Pays for Survey?
  Who pays for the survey in a real estate land sale?
 
  There's no legal requirement that either party pay for one.  The sale contract would state which party was paying for a survey, and it would most often be the seller.  Local custom may vary and occasionally the buyer will order a survey just to make sure about what is being transferred.
