They Have a Buyer |
| |
 |
We inherited 1/3 of a home, 2 1/2 yrs ago. We have a buyer for the property, for the past year.
The other party involved lives 2 hrs away and has been here 3 times for some personal property, and says that she wants to go through everything, but we can not get her to come and do this. Is there anyway legally possible to get her going. Or do we just let the house sit, and keep paying the bills for electric, heat, water, sewer , taxes etc. I feel this is eating what ever we would receive for the property at this point. the value is only $58,000.
Thankyou for your help. |

Put the property on the market in the normal way, with a local real estate agent. You can probably make an agreement that "no commission will be due if the property is sold to what's-her-name within the next two months." After that your agent might want to work on her -- or else another buyer will appear. It's silly to keep the expenses of holding the place vacant on the chance she really means it. If she does, though, knowing the place is officially on the market should bring some action from her. |
