Taxes Not Paid |
| |
 |
Our taxes are included in our monthly morgage payment. On two occasions we have recieved notices from our Tax Assor that our local and school taxes had not been paid. Last week we recieved a notice that our home would be put up for auction due to taxes not being paid. I called the bank, and they had no knowledge of what was owed I had to tell them. What recourse do we have to force the bank to pay our taxes on time?? |

You should double-check with the assessor's office that the tax bills are being sent directly to the bank, which, by the way, is responsible for any late charges. And you should call 1-800-522-3330, to report the problem to the Mortgage Division of the New YOrk State BAnking Department. YOu can also write them, at 2 REctor Street, NEw York NY 10006. Let me know what happens; I'm interested. |
