Stepfather Can Live There

Hello. i have a question. WE are buying my step fathers home in Washington and he has life rights to live in it as long as he wants. my question to you what kind of binding legal documents can I have signed to protect his rights and ours. WE were thingking about putting him on the title but then someone mentioned that his children can take percent of the house as his heirs. is that correct.

The law provides excellent procedures for accomplishing what you want.  Take the whole question to a lawyer who specializes in real estate, or perhaps one who specializes in estate planning.  The attorney can explain just how to word the documents to protect everyone.  YOu may be talking about a life estate, remaindermen, etc.
