Starting in Real Estate |

How much money would a new real estate agent need up front to invest in his/hers new career. After schooling and licensee fees, when a licensee starts from scratch, what do you think the estimated number would be up front and out of pocket? |

If your sponsoring broker is a Realtor, you'll need to join the local (and national) Association of Realtors, and I don't know what that will cost, as it varies in different localities. There may be fees to a Multiple Listing System. Local brokers can tell you. Beyond that, your main investment will be with your own time. Your office will furnish office space, secretarial help, paperwork, documents, phones and the like, and you won't be starting your own web page at the beginning. Most offices pay advertising costs and some pay for your new business cards. You'll bear your own car expenses, and of course with the price of gas that's no small matter. But you don't need the kind of start-up costs that go with new careers in some other fields. Good luck to you, Edith |
