Selling Right Away

We bought my brother-in-laws house in Idaho as a 2nd home 6 mo ago (we live in WA). He had bad credit and was coming close to his arm on his loan but did not defaut. Things are not turning out as we wanted. I am sure there is a penalty we would have to pay, but would like to consider selling it. Could wait 6 mo if we had to. Any suggestions that will not financially break us?

I don't know of any restrictions on selling property you own, no matter how short a time you've owned it.  But perhaps you're asking about a mortgage, and of course I have no idea what your financing situation is.  If you're concerned about prepayment penalties, or repaying subsidies on some special mortgage plan, your best bet is to read your mortgage document carefully and then talk with your mortgage company.
