Scared with ARM

I have a 5-year ARM that is fixed until Summer of 2010. However, I am getting really scared! I just found out that even though we have been in our home for 4 years, the values in my neighborhood have dropped below what we owe on the house! I know I still have two years to see what the market does, but what can I do to prepare myself for the worst?

Perhaps the new legislation just passed by Congress with include something to help you.  There's no harm in contacting your lender now to see if they have anything to suggest.  Meanwhile, you might as well take a deep breath, count to ten, and try to enjoy life.  A lot can happen in two years.  Values in your neighborhood may go up so you can refinance, or interest rates may stay low so that your adjustment isn't too traumatic.
