Property Condition Disclosures |
| |
 |
How do you ask a seller about their knowledge of problems with their home?
Do you have to ask specific questions,
Dose the roof leak?
Is their foundations problems?
ect.....
Thanks in Advance.

Hi Tony! I don't know what state you live in. Here in New York, for example, the seller must give you a written disclosure of property condition, answering 43 specific questions. A good all-purpose question, asked in front of witnesses, is "Are there any problems with the condition of the property that I can't see for myself?" In addition, it's wise to have your purchase contract written to allow you to bring in a home inspector, and to cancel the deal if you don't like the report you get. Good luck to you |
