Problems After Closing

Hi Edith. My wife and I just purchased an inventory home from a major builder in the Washington, DC area. We settled in April but have since noticed a couple of problems. Such as the family room ceiling was not finished very well and the kitchen cabinet has a split at the top. The builder is still active buiding homes in the development. Should we expect the builder to repair these items after settlement.

Thank you.

I think you have a right to ask for those problems to be corrected.  If necessary, get an estimate from a different builder, and then take that in to small claims court to see if you can get the money from your builder.
