I have owned homes with my spouse, who supported both of us. Now I am divorced and self-supporting. Could I qualify for the first-time buyer's tax credit as a single person? |

For the 2009 tax credit, which was scheduled to expire December 1, you are a firsttime buyer if you haven't owned a main residence in the preceding three years. I don't know if the qualification has changed for the extension currently before Congress. Stay tuned. |
