Ask Heather about: Mortgages, Finance, Taxes or Home Selling?

Offer was not Contingent

I have a contract on a home. An approval letter has been given by my lender, however, I must lease or sell my home before closing. The contract is NOT contingent. I have had no offers to buy or lease my purchase home and I only have 5 weeks to do so before closing. Obviously, I cannot get the loan without leasing or selling my current property. What happens if I submit an amendment to terminate the contract other than loosing my earnest money? The home I have a contract on has been under contract for two weeks.
I need to know what to do as soon as possible. Thank you.

See a lawyer who specializes in real estate as soon as possible.  Good luck.
