Offer Not Accepted |

Our full price offer was not accepted. How do we request to be notified if the opposing contract is withdrawn?
We were out of town buyers, with pre purchased plane tickets to the town where the property was listed. Our contract was contingent on seeing the property when we arrived in 4 days. We saw it anyway and loved it and want to express our continued interest. How do we do so in writing so the serlling agent will take us seriously?
Thanks |

You say "our contract was contingent on seeing the property" but it's not clear if that was really a contract. Was it by any chance an offer that had not yet been accepted in writing? If so, the sellers had the right to deal with anyone else they chose to. They, or their agent, need not tell you anything about other offers. If that is the situation, the best way to proceed is to present another written offer, this time without that seeing-the-house contingency. What price you offer is a matter for your judgment. The agent is required by law to present all written offers promptly to the owners. But i, on the other hand, your offer actually was accepted in writing, and you later removed the contingency about seeing the house, then it sounds as if you have an valid contract and it's time to consult a lawyer about holding the sellers to it. |
