Missed Out on the Lot

I would like to purchase the lot adjoining my own. The lot was listed and under contract all within the week I was away on vacation. Can I offer to buy the potential purchasers out of their contract or do I just have to wait and hope the contract falls through?

You can certainly offer to take over the contract, giving the purchasers some kind of profit.  No harm in trying.  You could also contact the seller; if the seller is motivated enough, sometimes their attorney can find an "out" of the existing contract.
Let me know what happens; I'm interested.
