Lost his Job

I was weeks away form closing on a home. Unfortunately the company I worked was closing down at the end of the year. I could'nt purchase the home. I'm wondering is my earnest money deposit nonrefundable.

Your  purchase contract may contain wording that explains your rights at this point.  If your offer was contingent upon (or subject to) obtaining financing, and if you couldn't qualify for a loan after you lost your job, it's possible you could get your money back.
If it's a large amount, take all the documents you have to a lawyer.  If it's a few thousand dollars, you may want to represent yourself in small claims court and see what a judge has to say.
