Lost Her Job

My wife and i had a house built and it is hard to get financed beings how she just lost her job. The agent wants to try and sneak it through without her employment and with her income things were gonna be tight anyway. My quesion is since we only have a construction loan out on it can we ask the builders to go ahead and sell it and start over fresh once she finds a job because we wil not be able to afford it on just my income. thanks

That's really a personal decision and I'm not really qualified to give you advice. But I will anyhow -- if you "sneak it through" you'll probably end up in over your heads, losing the house, and trashing your credit rating. By all means see if the builder will help you get out of this. It's possible the contract you signed will let you drop out if you can't arrange financing -- and you really can't, without committing fraud and lying to the lending institution. You might want to have a lawyer look at your documents and talk with the builder for you. Let me know what happens; I'm interested.
