 |
I need your help. I just received an email from the realtor whose selling me this property. It says that there is a title lien of $10.000 . I got so mad , because, before buying the property, I asked her by email if there was any leins or encumbrances on the property, and she did reply by email that there was none. Now, I am almost ready to close, and I don't know what to do. I tried to contact her but she is not ansering her phone because of the weekend. Please help. Thanks |

There's not much you can do, till the owner of the property makes some arrangement (if possible) to clear the lien. You don't want to buy a problem along with the property. As for the agent -- she is not a lawyer, and can't be expected to give an opinion on the quality of the title. She should have said "As far as I know from what the seller says, there are no liens" or something like that. She shouldn't have tried to sound more certain than that. |
