Is It Sold?

My friend just went and saw a house that he fell in love with today. He put in an offer and was all excited. He just found out that its under attorney review. Before he drove an hour to see it, his agent called the listing agent to confim that it was still available and she said yes. He's heart broken she should be repromanded some how right? Is there anything he can do?

I'm not sure just what the situation is.  If you mean that a previous offer was being considered and had not yet been approved by the seller's attorney, then I'd say the listing agent was properly acting in the best interests of the seller, in saying the place was not yet sold.  Until a final acceptance and -- if the contract required it -- approval by an attorney, the sellers would be free to deal with any other offer that came in.
