House Won't Sell |
| |
 |
I relocated to TN from IL just over a year ago, my house I have in Malta IL was rented to a couple that assured me they would buy it this year. With the crash of the economy that didn't happen. Now I have had my house empty and for sale since April and no action. Property taxes went up again this year to live in that little village now paying over $4000 a yr. the second installment is due in Sept. How can I get out from under this debt with this house and property taxes. Why is the government doing nothing to help those of us out here that cannot live in their houses right now? |

Three months is not a long time to have a house on the market, but if you want to sell promptly, you'll just have to drop your price till you hit a level that attracts offers. You don't tell me how much you owe on the place compared to what it might really bring in today's market. If you can sell for enough to pay off the mortgage, you're luckier than many other people. I hope you're using an agent in Malta -- that's the person to guide you on pricing. Don't wait to lower your price; the place is costing you money every month and will cost a lot more if you go right into next fall and winter. |
