House on a Pond |
| |
 |
we found a lovely second home on an 11 acre pond. the lot is 1.4 acres and includes the dam that was built to create the pond 40 years ago. the dam is registered and has been inspected and seems to meet all code and is considered a low hazard, the best rating possible. the pond has another six houses which benefit from the ponds effect. the broker did have to disclose the dam as a defect to us. As long as we consult engineers and proper legal advice- any reasons not to buy a home that has a dam that is beneficial for recreation and waterviews? |

I'm chuckling. It certainly sounds as if you do want to buy the place and hope I'll tell you to go ahead. But come on -- how can I possibly judge from this distance if you can't judge for yourselves after having done all this investigation? Afraid I'll have to pass on this one -- but the place sure does sound appealing! |
