Edith, In a column a way back, you discussed when to get your credit score when looking for a house. You noted that starting in 2005, each of the major agencies will be required to furnish one report a year at no charge. How can I take advantage of this? |

They're rolling out the free credit score thing gradually. I suppose that's to avoid overwhelming the credit companies with requests. The service started with the Western states on January 1, and will be available in Midwest states after March 1. On June 1 consumers in Southern states will be eligible and in the East starting September 1. The major credit reporting agencies have set up a web site, so you can get information at www.annualcreditreport.com
