Ex Wants to Buy

Generally speaking, if a divorced couple has a listing agreement, and 2 months before it expires, one of the couple wants to buy the house from the other spouse, does a realtor generally get commision? All? half (although there is no other agent obviously)

There's no "generally" about it, because this is an unusual situation.  Sounds to me like a case for negotiation, mediation, even arbitration, if the agent wants to exert his or her rights under the listing contract and claim a full or even a half commission.  And here's a complication -- only half of the house is being sold, technically.  I'll just hope it's all settled amicably -- hope you'll let me know how it works out.
