Credit for Buying

what kinda credit do you need to buy a house

Well, if you're going to pay all cash, you don't need any credit at all to buy a house.

But if you're asking about getting a mortgage loan, then the answer is you need good credit.  These days banks are pretty particular about how buyers qualify.  You probably need a credit score in the high 600s, perhaps in the 700s.  You'll be fine if you don't have too many other debts and you pay all your bills on time.
