Co-signed a Mortgage

My husband cosigned on a mortgage with another person who is not paying the mortgage. Can he force that person to sell?

If your husband is a co-owner he can ask a court to order a public sale.  If he is not, being responsible for the mortgage doesn't give him any ownership rights and he can't force a sale.  He's  in a real fix, and his (your) credit rating is already taking a hit.  He could even be sued for the whole amount personally.  That's the risk people take when they co-sign for someone who isn't really financially qualified on their own.
