Co-Owner

if my name is one of four to a house and land, can I force them to buy me out or sell so that I can get my name off the deed?

You can go to court and request an order for "partition" -- a public auction sale of the property and division of the proceeds.  That seldom yields true market value and it entails legal expenses.  Everybody loses out.  But perhaps a letter from your lawyer, mentioning the possibility, would be enough to move your co-owners to buy you out.
