Buying Sister Out |
| |
 |
My mother's condo was left to my 2 sisters and me. The real estate market is not good here now. One sister and I want to keep it for a seasonal rental property, which is in demand. The other sister wants us to buy her out. How do we determine a fair price? Not one condo has sold in the complex for 1 year and there are 10 on the market. |

You can ask nearby real estate brokers from two different offices for a simple one-page written opinion of possible market value. Agree ahead of time to average their estimates and use that as the basis for buying out your sister. |
