Buy for College Student |

I am considering the purchase of a townhouse for my daughter versus renting while she is attending college. Is this a good time to buy? Or should we continue to rent for the next several years? She just completed her freshman year and we have been renting an off campus apartment near the campus. She is attending the University of Central Florida in the Orlando area.

Without knowing much about the Orlando market, or what your daughter is paying in rent, I would say that offhand it can be a good investment to buy property for the next few years. But it's a personal decision -- you know the relative costs involved, I don't. Yes, this is a good time to buy, real bargains out there, mortgages harder to get which means fewer buyers. |
